    Advanced sailing course - Sailing school in Croatia, sailing courses and programmesThis advanced sailing course by Ultra Sailing School represents a higher level than the elementary course. It is focused on the upgrading of sailing and seamen's skills while practicing.

    The course duration is seven days which are split in three days sailing in front of Trogir base on First 7500 and 4 days sailing in navigation with living on board of our school bigger Beneteau sail boats (Beneteau Oceanis 311).

    This program is also focused on the maneuvering exercises during practicing (mooring and unmooring with engine and sails), working and maneuvering with asymmetric spinnaker.
    Fine adjustment of the sails as well as sailing with asymmetric spinnaker or just spinnaker will show You how it is great to use advance sailing methods in gaining more fun and faster sailing.
    Also we do some practic very basic Navigation on charts.
    In a second part of course there is one half - night sailing.
    Each day we do minimum of 30 to 40 NM distances are planned, depending from weather conditions, only by the sails.
    From the moment  when 4-day on board program starting, there is a strict plan for on board duties as cleaning, cooking, sea and anchor watches etc.

    INCLUDES:
    Accommodation in appartments and halfboard on first 3 days, accommodation on sailing boat in last 3 days, sailing suit rental, fuel, taxes, instructor, marina fees when leaving the base marina.

    NOT INCLUDED:
    Participation fee for last four days ( 21 EUR /day/person ) for boat supplies, tourist tax ( 1 EUR per a day per a person ), additional drinks, your fees to arrive to the base and departure form it once the course is finished.

    The sailing course is conducted at first 3 days on Beneteau First Class 7500, and the rest of the week on one of the sailing boats from Ultra fleet. The size of the boat depends on the number of participants. Usually on Oceanis 311.

    *The elementary course program is obligatory.

     

    Advanced sailing school programme:


    Sat - Day 1


    Arrival to Ultra Sailing school base, Trogir  till 11:00 h, introducing to other attendants and instructor and heading to sailing boat in marina
    Repeating previous knowledge and basic terms of sailing boat
    Leaving marina, practicing reefing, sailing
    Upon return tideing up the boat and equipment.
    Dinner, plans for next day, questions and comments.


    Sun - Day 2


     

    09:30- breakfast
    11:00 practicing knots
    Theoretic lessions – repeating basics in sailing (aerodinamics of sails, forces on the boat in sailing )
    12:00 leaving port and sailing
    Practicing tacking and gybing, second part practicing anchoring and docking in „wild“ bays
    18:00 docking, tideing up the boat and equipment
    19:00 dinner, comments, plans for next day

    Mon - Day 3


    09:30 – breakfast
    11:00 Theoretic lessions, basic of maneouvring with and without sails , elementary knowledge about Gennaker .
    12:00 leaving port and sailing
    Practicing docking with sails on mark , sailing with Gennaker and practicing gybing with Gennaker
    18:00 docking, tideing up the boat and equipment
    19:30 dinner, comments, plans for next day

    Tue - Day 4


    09:30 - breakfast
    11:00 leaving a base port on bigger boat and sailing towards next destination according to instructor's decision and direction on wind to be able to sail with spinnaker and practicing of helmsman skills
    Resting, preparations for returning
    18:30 docking, tideing up the boat and equipment
    19:30 dinner, comments, plans for next day


     Wed - Day 5


    09:30 - breakfast
    11:00 Theoretic lessions – lessions about Spinnaker sailing , basic elements from night sailing  (navigations lights, light-houses, low visibility)
    12:00 leaving port and sailing towards planned destination
    Practicing rounding marks and manoevering „man overboard“ procedure
    18:00 Dinner
    19:00 Departure on short half night navigation
    23:00 Arrival on finnal day destination , anchoring at night


    Thu - Day 6


    10:30 - breakfast
    11:30 - Basic theoretical knowledge about regattas and racing rules
    13:00 Preparations for leaving the port
    14:00 leaving port and sailing without any instructor assistance
    18:00 docking, tideing up the boat and equipment
    19:00 dinner, comments, plans for next day



    Fri - Day 7


     

    10:00 Breakfast + basic theory of Mast triming
    11:30 Sailing individual navigation of attendants
    till 16:00 h return to the base, recieving diplomas and appropriate gifts
