How can I choose the right charter boat for me?

Most of the clients already have an idea what type of boat they look for (size, cabins, equipment). For family sailing we kindly advice Beneteau Oceanis line or one of our Fountaine Pajot Catamarans. For regatta's and sailing fans we can provide Beneteau First models such as First 27, First 36, First 44 or First 53 to be rented with or without skipper.

Consider the needs of your crew, how many baths should the boat have, which type of mainsail you prefer and wheter you need a air condition or generator, if you plan to avoid marinas and stay mostly on anchor.

What is the cost of yacht charter Croatia?
The cost of yacht charter Croatia depends on a couple of different things. Motor (powered) boats are usually the most expensive than sailing boats or catamarans. The larger sailing yachts and the more crew it uses, the more expensive it will be. Newer yachts are also more expensive than the older or classic yachts. All our charter boats are maintained and fully checked each year. Catamarans are also quite expensive charter option, because of the comfort that it provides.

Charter term and duration also determines cost. Most yacht charter clients charter for one week or two weeks, just few do more than two weeks in a row. By booking until end of January you can get early booking discount. If you prefer Last minute charter you can get good prices but with less options for choosing and finding a boat that you desire or choosing destination that you wish.

What do I need when sailing with kids?
Please inform us on time if you have kids on board and about their height and weight, so we can organize a life jacket on time. Otherwise you can bring their own life jacket from home. Do not forget: hat, sun-cream, mosquito repellent cream, sailing shoes, sunglasses etc. Cover your kid with light white T-shirt between 11:00-16:00 hour (sun protection). The boat can be very slippery, so let the kids have rubber shoes most of the time. Children on board don't need much. The boat itself is fun to explore for them. Especially like to play with the dinghy and jump into sea from the stern. When renting a boat, pay attention to the cockpit, stern and always take a boat with proper Bimini.

Teach your child to take part in the ship's duties and enjoy the time together. Even withouth TV or smartphone you can have a very pleasant time with card games, chess, drawing or fishing etc. Avoid  to eat sweet while sitting in the cockpit because of the bees. Choose a shorter daily routes and bays where they can buy ice cream and have a "good run". Penciles, paper, books and favourite teddy bear should not be forgotten.
What do I need to pack when sailing Croatia?
The most important is to remember to bring any personal  items (passports, skippers licence) as well as medication. Softer luggage is better to fitting into lockers on the boats and as always on holidays advice is to bring the least baggage. You will need sun hats, sun glasses, light summer clothing, trainers, not slippery shoes, swimmingsuits and for evening or dinning in restaurants  „smart casual“. If sailing in May, June and September then it is good to bring your own sailing suit or sailing jacket and warmer clothing (for evening or in case of colder weather).
What skippers licence is valid in Croatia?
List of skippers licences is quite long and provided by Croatian Maritime Ministry. We can send you the list by E-Mail in needed, so you can check if the licence you have is listed. Before you confirm your sailing holidays and paying your sailing boat, it is best to send copy by E-Mail, so we will check for you immediately if it is valid. Except skippers licence, VHF licence must be also on board. VHF licence can be any particular and it can be provided from anyone in the crew.
Can we buy a provision on islands ?
All bigger Croatian islands have a market, shops, post offices, banks etc. (island Krk, Cres, Losinj, Susak, Brac, Hvar, Vis, Lastovo, Mljet, Korcula…) In smaller bays mostly you can find a restaurant where you can have a meal or just a drink.
Can we order provision in advance?
Yes, our booking office can send you list of food and baverages that can be ordered for you and will be delivered for you on board.
What is the best time for sailing in Croatia?
The best time for sailing depends on your needs, party, sailing, swimming or island exploring.
The best sailing time is late spring (April till June) the days are long, wind conditions are good and in the beginning of April and May, the islands are not so crowded. End of September is also nice for sailing the sea is calm and still nice for swimming.
July and August are fewer crowded but ideal for swimming end enjoying summer in full.
April and October are also very popular for regattas and those who like quite time out of the season and the berths cost are cheap and you can easily find a berth anywhere.

Where we can find marinas?
There is 129 marinas, municipal and leisure ports and harbors all along the coast. 22 of them are managed by ACI marinas and the rest are privately or state owned. Boats rented from Ultra Sailing in ACI Marina Split, ACI Marina Pomer or ACI Marina Dubrovnik have discount when moored in any other ACI Marina along the coast.
Can we park a car in marinas?
All marinas provide parking place for a price of 10-15€ per day. As most marinas are build 25 years ago parking place was not planned for today's standard. It means that in peak season parking space can be problem as everything is overbooked. For similar price we can recommend other private parking solutions outside marina. Just contact us when booking a boat and we will give you a suggestion where to park your car for a week or longer.

What is average berth price in marinas in Croatia?
Price depends of the boat size and term of the season and the service of the marina. Marinas in Croatia provides electricity, restaurants, shops, showers, loundry etc. Many of marinas are located on the most popular places (as ACI marina Korčula, ACI marina Plamižana etc).
Usually in ports and marinas you pay between 4€ and 11€ per metre length for a berth. Usually the price includes electricity, water consumption and usage of other facilities.
On a mooring buoy the prices are from 1€ up to 5€ per metre length.

We can give you some recommendation about marinas and bays while you are at the check-in on spot.

Yes, we provide One way Split to dubrovnik or opposite but with extra charge and check out on Friday afternoon at 15:00. We kindly advice to make your own travel insurance in your home country as they usually cover trip cancellation.
What is safety deposit?
Before taking over the vessel the client shall be liable to leave a deposit in a certain amount in the national currency (EUR) in cash or as credit card deposit (Visa or Mastercard). After the completion of yacht charter the whole deposit shall be repaid to the client, unless some damages or loss of equipment are noticed. Otherwise the stated deposit shall be kept in the amount needed for the repair or for purchase of damaged or lost equipment. Leaving of the deposit is also obligatory in cases when a skipper by the company Ultra d.o.o. is hired. In such case the mentioned deposit cannot be used for covering the costs emerged due to skipper's negligence, bad operation of the vessel or its equipment, therefor skipper has his own insurance which covers such kind of damage.
