Day Skipper Bareboat Sail course is usually held on Beneteau First 36 sailing boat, a racer/cruiser from 2022 with maximum 5 attendants. The course attendants are accommodated on board during the whole course. This program is the logical continuation and an addition to the experience acquired in the previous Competent Crew course. It is held by instructors with very long skipper and yachting experience. The navigation area includes some of Adriatic's most beautiful and famous islands: Brač, Šolta, Hvar, Vis and Korčula.
Over these 5,5 days, you will go through topics such as an independent navigational program, nautical skills, following the weather conditions, anchoring in secluded bays... Everything that it takes to develop the attendant’s sailing skills. Participants will also discover night navigation.
This course is also about discovering and learning the efficient and safe ways of life at sea such as: doing the dishes with limited water consumption, provisioning and cooking typical or easy to prepare meals, depending on the constraints of sailing.
Following daily working program is dynamic and subject to change according weather conditions.
FAST TRACK DAY SKIPPER: On some dates, it is possible to pass both Competent Crew and Day skipper course in a row. In 12 days, you can intensively learn all you need in order to get the basic knowledge and experience to charter a boat this summer in easy conditions.
Though this possibility is open for anyone, we recommend it to students who already have some experience at sea (dinghy sailing, boating, seafarers...)

Licence and Ability after the course ISPA Day Skipper certificate (This licence is approved by the Ministry of the Sea in Croatia-MMPI): The holder of the ISPA Day Skipper Certificate is competent to sail a vessel for private or charter purposes, up to 30GT within inland waters, during daylight, in light to moderate conditions, provided they also hold a valid VHF licence if the vessel has a VHF or GMDSS-VHF station on bord.
Internationally, other countries are recognizing ISPA Day Skipper certificate as equivalent to their national boating license: Canada, Germany, Queensland in Australia (no boating license exists in other states in Australia), USA, Bahama Islands, Thailand - Phuket.
For renting bareboat, it is the decision of each charter company to set their requirements. Some might require higher levels for weekly rentals, therefore we recommend continuing education to obtain Coastal skipper certificate.
