Sport Sailing and Regatta in Croatia 2025

At Ultra, Sport sailing is in our DNA. This is why we teach our students on new and performant sailing boats, Beneteau First.

 

Our boats are equipped with performance sails waiting for passionate sailors to feel their power and get the perfect trimming to sail faster!

 

We now offer Gennaker / Code zero training, advanced trimming and regatta training. For more fun, these training courses are usually paired with a regatta date so that students get the opportunity to test their new skills in competition.

 

Gennaker training

The 3-Day Gennaker / Code zero training is designed to sail mostly using the appropriate and faster front sail: gennaker, code zero, drifter. You will learn to prepare, hoist, drop and trim the sails efficiently for better speed and performance. This training is intended for recreational and sport sailors who regularly participate, or wish to take part in regattas. Competent crew certificate is the minimum requirement.

 

The Theory part will tackle: Crew organization, Gennaker, Code zero, Genoa and mainsail trim, Racing rules of sailing, sailing strategy and tactics basics.

 

Flag signal code

The Practice will focus on gennaker preparation, hoisting and dropping, gennaker trim, Gybing with gennaker, upwind and downwind mark rounding.

 

Sport Sailing

Sport sailing programs are aimed at beginner regatta sailors with at least Competent Crew certificate. It is a mix of performance sailing using adapted front sails whenever possible, and relaxing enjoying middle dalmatian islands, secluded coves and popular destinations. This 5,5 day active sailing trip is also the ideal program for MILE BUILDING.  

 

Regatta participation

The summer 3-days regattas (first leg on Friday, free Saturday, second leg on Sunday) are a perfect weekend sport getaway and a great occasion to continue training gennaker sailing. These are open to sailors with at least Competent Crew certificate or who have participated in Gennacker training.

 

Advanced Regatta

Advanced Regatta autumn programs are for the participants who are in for the win! These autumn terms often come with challenging weather and offer plenty of adrenalin while requiring that participants mobilize all their acquired knowledge and skills to stay focused and performant. Jabuka regatta is an offshore overnight competition which will put your seamanship and physical readiness to test.

 

For these terms, Day skipper certificate is a bare minimum. To participate, crews have to apply. Priority will be given to our students who have participated in Gennaker training and/or who have already participated in regattas with us.
